Should we be very concerned for the Drupal 8 performance drop?

How low is low? Yesterday I published my upsetting tests about the Drupal 7 to 8 RC1 performance. Clearly, 3 times drop of performance is not a nice thing to have in Drupal 8. Now, the question is, would that make me consider WordPress as the best alternative? I ran this test when Drupal 8 was still in beta. Drupal 7 outperformed Wordpress back then, and Wordpress outperformed Drupal 8. I have run the same test again (though my hardware has become stronger - a 4x core CPU with 16GB or RAM). I have run the test under only two applicable criteria - with 10 content posts on the front page, and without any content at all. The results have been so interesting that I actually repeated them a number of times with the same result. One reason, of course, is that Wordpress would need to have a good cache installed. But still...

I am not sure what caused Wordpress to perform so poor this time. I have verified that both tests were performed under PHP 5.6.
